Planet Festival Contest
Aug. 2024
MAE M placed 4th in the Qualifying of the 2024 Planet Festival Contest. Here is what Denise Heindl from Starkstrom Magazine had to say about her performance (translated from german):
[MAE M is a] full-blood performer - she gave one hundred percent from the very first second. The way she moves on stage is fun, and it’s hard to take your eyes off her. This artist combines a modern sound with the pulse of the times. Her voice is poppy and catchy. Internationally, she can be compared to Poppy, Grimes, and others. She creates a playful, doll-like, dark atmosphere. There is a lot of talent behind her, and we will hear much more from her as she continues on her path[...]. She entertains the audience without batting an eye.

Music Video Shoot
Destructive Behaviour
May 4-5, 2022, DropIt Studios
After months of preparation, the days of filming the music video for Destructive Behaviour have finally arrived. Two days filled of action, fun and hard work lay ahead. Accompanied her producers and her investor, MAE M was more than ready to let all inhibitions go and deliver stunningly disturbing performances.
Filming took place at DropIt Studios in Alland (NÖ), where director Niklas Hugo and DOP Pascal Hein, supported by AD Julian Schmelzinger and 1. AC Richard Belicky, were eager to capture the vision they had worked on with MAE M in the months prior with equipment provided by AV Professional. Under a strict schedule, enforced by Sarah Zaza and Sabine Tatzgern of ANNEX Productions, the 23-strong crew got to work.
Day 1 focused on filming on the padded-cell set, built by Marian Kramuschke (set designer). Liam Pfefferkorn (stylist) had his work cut out for him, having to fix up the bandages covering MAE Ms legs after almost every shot. But not only the costume needed constant touching up: Birgit Strobl (hair and make up) was always on stand by, ready to spray down stray hairs and fix running lipgloss during the intense performances.
Later in the day, the padded-cell was exchanged for beautiful visuals by bounty.studios, and the solitary performance of MAE M would be replaced by dramatic fight scenes. The fight scenes were choreographed and executed under the supervision of Christoph Postel of White Lotus Karate by the aforementioned, Thomas Leichtfried, Master Juangjan, Christoph Prater and Jonah Knoll, the latter two also being the two guards seen in the padded-cell scenes.
Day 2 started out with a scene inspired by Daki's ability from Demon Slayer. Red fabric was tied to MAE M, each panel being given to a member of the crew, who were then charged to pull on them with full force on the directors command. After that was filmed and done, close ups and performance shots in front of the LED wall (displaying visuals by bounty.studios) commenced.
The last part of the shoot was arguably the most unpredictable and nerve wrecking part. Covered only in duckt tape, MAE M was to be glazed in black slime, curtesy of Birgit Strobl, and held by Marian Kramuschke, before being placed on the ground
where she would lie in the (fake, but still very cold) rain. While the shots turned out stunning, the aftermath was burdensome, as Sarah and Sabine took hours to clean off the diy slime (!! soap) off the concrete floor.
All in all, the shoot was a great success, resulting in extraordinary footage.
